LoraWan: The IoT technology that allows energy savings at the MUT
By installing an IoT (Internet of Things) LoraWan network created by the Zensi company, which transforms analog gas meters into smart ones through sensors in the Tobalaba Urban Market.
The MUT or Mercado Urbano Tobalaba is undoubtedly one of the capital spaces that has sparked the most interest lately, whether for its original design and architectural concept or its commercial proposition. It also has a focus on sustainability and embraces better and new technologies. Thanks to the Chilean startup Zensi, it features some energy management tools in real estate management.
For its part, Zensi is focused on monitoring critical variables in assets and commercial facilities. They do this by incorporating solutions based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence, implementing advanced hardware such as sensors and gateways. In this way, critical data are captured and processed in the cloud, providing a comprehensive and real-time view of energy consumption in commercial operations.
This work is carried out through the Zensi Smart City platform, a 360° solution that allows control of critical business variables, and in the case of the MUT it is being applied in monitoring gas consumption, which facilitates, among other things, the automation of the process of apportionment and pre-billing of basic services, saving resources and providing key data to establish energy efficiency goals.
As explained by Antoine Escarpentier, CEO of Zensi, "this implies a projection of gas consumption savings and a significant optimization of operations in the apportionment process".
Savings and Efficiency.
The proposal from the Chilean startup Zensi considered the installation of a LoraWan IoT network, a low-power, long-range wireless technology designed to connect IoT devices, which, together with sensors, converts analog gas meters into smart ones, allowing for the acquisition of real-time consumption data.

Likewise, an advanced data analysis is conducted, using Artificial Intelligence algorithms to analyze consumption patterns, detect issues, and project future energy costs. Furthermore, it facilitates the prorating of consumption that allows an accurate allocation of said fuel costs for each tenant.
That is to say, through advanced analytics tools, it is possible to create 100% personalized reports, monitor gas consumption of operations 24/7, study the functioning of energy assets and gather data to take action.
