One of food processing's oldest and most stubborn challenges is how to dry fruits, vegetables and aromatic plants while keeping the fresh taste, color and nutritional value intact. Traditional ingredient processing methods often rely on chemical transformation processes that alter the original characteristics of raw materials.
Dry4Good, an industrial FoodTech company specializing in the production of high-value natural ingredients, has built a technology — and an industrial facility — to solve this differently. Its precision-drying process preserves the organoleptic and nutritional qualities of fresh produce in additive-free ingredients, giving food manufacturers a genuine alternative to ultra-processing. Three years after opening its first production site near Paris, the company has secured €5 million to expand capacity and support growing commercial demand from leading global food manufacturers.

Putting Tech, Not Chemistry, at the Service of the Ingredient
Conventional industrial drying — typically performed at high temperatures — is fast and cost-effective, but it degrades the very compounds that give fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs their flavor, color and nutritional value. Aromatic molecules are volatile. Pigments break down under heat. Vitamins and micronutrients are lost. The result is dried ingredients that require artificial flavorings, colorings and additives to make finished products taste and look acceptable.
Dry4Good's process works differently. By drying at ambient temperature through a precisely controlled combination of physical and mechanical parameters, it removes water while keeping the ingredient's aromatic compounds, natural pigments and nutrients largely intact. As water leaves, these qualities do not disappear. Instead, they concentrate.

A New Generation of Natural Ingredients
The outcome is a new class of industrial ingredients that are concentrated versions of the fresh product: a dried strawberry that genuinely tastes of strawberry; a tomato powder that carries the full color and aroma of fresh tomato. In bakery and pastry, Dry4Good's vegetable and fruit powders deliver cooking-stable natural color (a vivid yellow from squash, a deep pink from red berries, a rich violet from beetroot) replacing artificial colorant in doughs, glazes and icings.
In confectionery, the same ingredients reimagine what a sprinkle or decoration can be: instead of sugar-and-dye formulations with no flavor and high processing levels, a raspberry inclusion brings acidity, color and real fruit taste to a brownie or a cupcake. In chocolate and beverages, the ingredients function as aromatic diffusers, lending depth and complexity without extracts or synthetic flavoring. In seasonings and prepared meals, they replace compound flavorings with single-origin, recognizable ingredients.
The common thread: because Dry4Good's ingredients carry more intrinsic taste and color than conventionally processed alternatives, manufacturers need less of them, and can remove the compensating additives that conventional drying makes necessary.
Built for Clean Label
Dry4Good produces natural aromatic solutions — clean-label flavor systems — and natural coloring solutions, as alternatives to artificial colorants. Both are derived exclusively from fruits, vegetables and aromatic plants, available in powder, granule and inclusion formats, and designed for industrial handling and shelf-life requirements. The formulation benefit is straightforward: clean-label credentials and formulation simplification are delivered together.
Rooted in Local Agriculture
Most raw materials are sourced through a network of farmers and cooperatives in the region where the company's production facility is located. Dry4Good also purchases fruits and vegetables that fall outside retail appearance standards but retain their full nutritional and sensory qualities, creating additional revenue streams for growers and reducing upstream food waste.

Beyond sustainability benefits, the model strengthens supply-chain resilience. By purchasing and processing produce during peak harvest periods, Dry4Good enables manufacturers to secure access to high-quality natural ingredients year-round, while helping stabilize sourcing costs and reduce dependence on seasonal fresh supply.
Scaling Up to Meet Accelerating Market Demand
Three years after inaugurating its 1,000 m² facility in Cergy — Europe’s first factory dedicated to end-to-end natural ingredient production, with an initial capacity of 50 metric tons per year — Dry4Good has validated its technology, delivered commercial volumes to industrial clients, and is now conducting significant development programs with several major international food groups.
To support this next phase of growth, the company has secured €5 million in new investment, led by the Île-de-France Reindustrialization Fund, financed by the Île-de-France Region with the support of the European Union's ERDF and managed by Innovacom - Turenne Groupe, alongside a pool of investors from the agri-food sector. The investment will fund two new production lines, increased annual processing capacity to 800 metric tons and approximately ten new hires.
Across Europe and North America, manufacturers face mounting regulatory and consumer scrutiny of artificial additives, ultra-processing levels and label complexity. The global natural food ingredients market was valued at $21 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach $32.7 billion by 2030 (+6.5% annually), driven by growing demand for clean-label reformulation and ingredient simplification that Dry4Good's solutions are designed to address.
