June 2026-. With an ingenious personal safety solution, Lifeline AI’s U.S.-based founder Darnell Adler has been crowned the winner of Red Bull Basement 2026, a global incubator program empowering students and first-time founders to turn ideas into products using mentorship and AI-powered tools. The award ceremony capped off a three-day World Final that brought teams from over 40 countries to San Francisco to compete for a prize including $100,000.
The minimum viable products (MVPs) showcased by the World Final teams ranged from digital products delivering solutions across health, agriculture, and environmental challenges. Ultimately, it was Lifeline AI’s idea that captivated an international judging panel composed of Michele Catasta, Partner and Head of Artificial Intelligence at Replit; Sasha DiGiulian, Red Bull Athlete, Founder and Entrepreneur of Send Bars; Jessica Hawk, Corporate Vice President, Microsoft Azure Product Marketing; Gaston Sandoval, Corporate Vice President of Global Client Marketing at AMD; and Ashwin Sreenivas, President and Cofounder of Decagon.
Lifeline AI’s idea redefines emergency response by enabling instant, silent alerts without visible phone interaction, giving people a safer way to get help in critical moments. Adler receives $100,000 and $25,000 in Microsoft Azure credits, as well as mentorship from Red Bull Ventures to help bring Lifeline AI to market.
Adler, a recent University of Southern California graduate from San Francisco, said, "I still don’t have words for this, I’m shaking... Being the Red Bull Basement global winner means that I can help people at scale... And that means so much to me. Lifeline AI is going to make the world a safer place. I promise you that."

More than 138,000 applications were submitted worldwide in the 2026 edition of Red Bull Basement. From ideation to execution, the finalists built the skills, confidence and networks needed to turn their vision into reality as they descended upon San Francisco for the World Final.
The intensive three-day event featured personal growth opportunities including workshops and networking with industry experts, culminating when the Top 10 teams took the stage to pitch their ideas to the global judging panel.
