EEUU, Spain, Denmark, and Argentina: 4 international startups aim to transform the food industry in Chile

In the second edition of Carozzi Sinergia Startup, an open innovation program, the company received more than 180 applications from 26 countries. They will conduct pilots in the company's production plants in Chile.

183 applicants from 26 countries participated in the second edition of Carozzi Sinergia Startup, an open innovation program that the company develops in collaboration with the global agrifoodtech accelerator Eatable Adventures, to find revolutionary, efficient, and sustainable solutions in the entrepreneurial ecosystem for the challenges of the food industry.

Finally, four projects were selected: the Argentine BioBlends and their proposal for a gas that extends the shelf life of food; Endless Food Co. with their alternative to cocoa powder sourced from Denmark; the American ProxyFoods with a platform based on artificial intelligence to accelerate production processes; and, from Spain, Sensesbit, which uses AI to transform real-time tasting test results into strategic information.

Revolutionary, Efficient, and Sustainable Solutions.

  • ProxyFoods (United States): helps develop new food and beverages in less time. Its platform uses artificial intelligence to simultaneously analyze sensory, nutritional, regulatory, cost, and shelf life variables, facilitating product formulation and reducing development cycles.

  • Sensesbit (Spain): helps to understand what consumers like and dislike when testing a product. Their technology uses artificial intelligence to analyze the results of tastings and convert them into clear information to improve or develop foods.
  • Endless Food Co. (Denmark): develops a more sustainable alternative to powdered cocoa. The startup uses oats and valued food by-products to create an ingredient that aims to maintain the flavor, aroma and texture of cocoa, and to reduce exposure to the volatility of its international market.
  • BioBlends (Argentina): aims to extend the shelf life of food without altering its characteristics. Its biopreservation technology uses volatile bacterial compounds to prolong the useful life of products without changing their taste, aroma, or formulation, also helping to reduce food waste.

The food industry is undergoing unprecedented transformations and as companies, we must generate workspaces with those who are developing technologies that aim to respond to these challenges. Carozzi Sinergia Startup directly targets this with a very relevant cultural impact, because the program allows our teams to connect and link with startups that are developing disruptive solutions and new ways of innovating at high speed", highlights the Manager of Innovation and Digital Transformation of Carozzi, José Manuel Muñoz.

In its 2026 version, the call was focused on inviting initiatives that responded to four strategic challenges: accelerating the formulation and development of new products; improving the management of consumer, market and channel information; adapting products to new regulatory requirements and consumer preferences; and generating new opportunities for the valorisation of waste and by-products under circular economy principles.

Now, these initiatives will work in a pilot phase alongside Carozzi's technical teams to validate their technologies in the company's plants. This stage will allow us to measure their operational impact, assess their scalability, and analyze their potential incorporation into different areas of the business.

With this second edition of Carozzi Sinergia Startup, the company strengthens its open innovation model and its connection with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, facilitating new technological solutions to advance from their validation towards concrete applications in the food industry.
