#StarWarsDay: Celebrate May the 4th with new content to enjoy on Disney+
This year, the celebrations include new series and episodes on Disney+, and exciting announcements of untold stories that will be coming soon.
This May 4th, Disney once again joins the celebrations of the eagerly awaited #StarWarsDay. On the date nicknamed "May the 4th be with you", which arises from the iconic message "May the Force be with you" and its resulting phonetic association in English, the most famous saga of all time is celebrated along with millions of fans worldwide. This year, the festivities include new series and episodes on Disney+, and exciting announcements of unprecedented stories coming soon.
PREMIERES FROM A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY
On May 4th, the exclusive premiere of Star Wars: Underworld Stories on Disney+, a new animated anthology series created by Dave Filoni, focuses on the criminal side of the STAR WARS galaxy through the experiences of two iconic villains: former assassin and bounty hunter Asajj Ventress and outlaw Cad Bane.
Furthermore, within the framework of collaboration between Disney and Epic Games, the Star Wars Watch Party island will be activated within Fortnite on May 2nd, where players will be able to enjoy the first two episodes of Star Wars: Underworld Stories starting at 10:00 am ET. To further merge the worlds of Fortnite and Disney, players will be able to unlock a First Order Stormtrooper outfit.

In turn, the second and final season of Andor, the live-action series starring Diego Luna that follows young rebel Cassian Andor on his journey to becoming a leader and hero, can now be enjoyed on the streaming service. The premiere episodes are twelve and are released weekly on the platform, in sets of three.
On the other hand, within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the special effects company Industrial Light & Magic, the second season of the documentary series Light & Magic, which follows the Lucasfilm studio as it enters its most challenging and revolutionary period: the dawn of the digital era, is now available on Disney+.
Finally, fans can commemorate the big day by enjoying the complete catalog of STAR WARS movies on Disney+, as well as all the animated and live-action series from the saga, multiple documentary series focused on behind-the-scenes, various animated short films, and more.
STAR WARS CELEBRATION 2025 ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Star Wars Celebration 2025, the event that brings together fans of the saga every two years, took place in April in Japan. During the event, it was announced that Lucasfilm's highly anticipated film The Mandalorian and Grogu will arrive in theaters on May 21, 2026. Starring Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver, the film expands the story introduced in the original Disney+ series The Mandalorian and follows the Mandalorian and his young apprentice, Grogu, on an exciting adventure as they travel throughout the galaxy.
In turn, the movie STAR WARS: STARFIGHTER will hit theaters on May 27, 2027, an independent adventure directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Gosling, which takes place approximately five years after the events of STAR WARS: EPISODE IX - THE RISE OF SKYWALKER.
As for the premieres planned for Disney+ announced in Tokyo+, the start of filming for a new season of Ahsoka , the original live-action series starring Rosario Dawson, has been brought forward. Regarding animated series, Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord, starring Witwer, will hit the platform in 2026, while the third season of Star Wars: Adventures of Young Jedi will be released soon. In addition, fans can enjoy the new animated series LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild Galaxy - Pieces of the Past starting September 19, 2025.
Another of the major novelties is the premiere of Volume 3 of Star Wars: Visions, landing exclusively on the streaming service on October 29, 2025. With Volume 3, the animated anthology returns to where it all began with nine short films from nine different anime studios to further showcase the diversity and creativity of Japanese animation.
Finally, it was announced that this series will begin with the creation of a new label, Star Wars: Visions Presents, to tell stories from the world of Star Wars: Visions in a longer format. The first title of the label will be the miniseries The Ninth Jedi, which will premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
