Pushd: the new app that wants to revolutionize the world of advertising

Pushd offers a platform that allows users to earn money by receiving push notifications from businesses and organizations.

Pushd is a new national technology startup that allows users to earn money by receiving ads from companies and organizations, which arrive directly on their mobile phones through in-app push notifications.

“Pushd aims to revolutionize the advertising industry, transforming it for the first time into a transparent and direct contract between advertising businesses and the public,” said Juan Muzard, founder and CEO of Pushd.

He added that, “We believe that users deserve to be rewarded for their attention, and our app offers a fair and equitable way to do so, creating a model where everyone contributes – users and customers, and everyone wins.”

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Pushd is currently available on Android. To sign up, users need to download the app and create an account. Once they are registered, they can start receiving push notifications from companies and organizations that are interested in reaching them.

Users will earn, each time they receive a notification (and just for the fact of receiving it), a percentage of what was paid to send it to them. This percentage depends mainly on how much the personal profile is completed, information that is then used solely to segment notifications, and usually exceeds 75%.

Based on the positive initial results, it is estimated that, to the extent that companies add campaigns, they can earn 20,000 pesos per month or even more. This considers a target ad count close to 30 per day – a number at least 3 times lower than the most conservative estimates of how many ads an average person sees each day.

Pushd seeks not only to create a better and fairer advertising channel, but as a result, to combat an industry that currently encourages practices that are tremendously harmful to society.

“All current advertising solutions (e.g. social media) have two things in common. First, in order to deliver the ad, the user must consume content – be logged in as long as possible, and second, they are fed data that the user, in the vast majority of cases, doesn’t know the apps have,” said Juan, founder of Pushd.

“The result is that apps are designed to be addictive – following the example of casinos, and data is collected, sold, and used thousands of times a day without consent. Pushd doesn’t require any of that – it’s a direct channel with no intermediaries, which only uses voluntarily submitted data, and rewards the user accordingly.”

Despite still being launched, Pushd already has more than 1500 users in Chile, and has recorded returns (in click-through rate) 30 times higher than an average social media campaign. In addition, the first payments of money to users’ accounts have already been made. “It’s amazing to see these results,” Pushd said.

“Clearly the key is transparency. When users’ rights are respected, better relationships can be generated between them and businesses, which translates into the results obtained. It leaves us very optimistic about the future and what the success of this method means in the industry,” he said

It is very important to note that Pushd protects the data delivered. The company does not sell or expose user data to third parties. These are only used to segment and choose the relevant notifications. Thus, each profile has complete control over their data and can be deleted at any time.

“Pushd transforms advertising into what it was always meant to be, a transparent model where users are rewarded for their contribution, and businesses can reach them directly with relevant messages based on their interests,” Muzard said. “We are excited to lead the change that should mark a milestone in the industry.”
