A meeting point for tech startups, insurance companies, and other key players in the insurtech ecosystem is the aim of "Evolución Insurtech Latam" (#eila24). This event will be held on the 3rd and 4th of September in Las Condes, Santiago.

The Role of Technology in the Evolution of Insurance.

Andrea Triat, executive director of InsurteChile, spoke with Entreprenerd about the importance of this instance.

It is essential that the insurance industry adopts new technologies to offer fairer and more inclusive insurance. Technology has the potential to revolutionize every aspect of insurance, from customer service to claim settlement.

Andrea Triat, Executive Director of InsurteChile

Since its creation in 2021, InsurteChile has worked to accelerate the insurance industry with technological solutions. "We firmly believe in the social role of insurance. When economies are self-insured, one frees up resources for other needs," commented Triat. "Our goal is for technology to be the vehicle to offer more accessible and efficient insurance".

Congress and Technology Exhibition.

The event will extend over two days, featuring various conferences and panels led by national and international experts. Among the most notable are Rob Schimek, CEO of Bolttech, and Solange Bernstein from the Financial Market Commission (CMF) of Chile. "We want attendees to firsthand know global trends and how they are being implemented in other parts of the world", Triat affirmed.

Additionally, 31 stands will provide the opportunity for various Insurtechs to showcase their innovations. These solutions aim to optimize operational processes, improve customer experience and automate claims settlement. "The tech expo will allow attendees to see in action the solutions that are transforming the industry," Triat stated.

Promoting Effective Connections.

"One of the key components of the event will be the matchmaking platform, designed to facilitate meaningful connections between participants. We have invested in a global app that allows attendees to profile themselves and schedule 20-minute meetings. We want these connections to translate into real business opportunities," explained Triat.

This approach seeks to maximize the value of the event, allowing startups, insurers, and other key players in the ecosystem to establish strategic partnerships and fruitful collaborations.

Innovation Contest.

The event will also include an innovation contest, open to any innovator with a project at the idea or proof of concept stage in the insurance field. The finalists will have the opportunity to present their projects during the event and compete for cash prizes and mentorships.

"We want to encourage creativity and development in the insurance world. This contest is an opportunity for innovators to showcase their ideas and get the support they need to take them to the next level," indicated Triat.

Projections and Perspectives.

"This is our first big event and we hope it will be a turning point for the insurance industry in Chile. We know there is much work to be done, but we are convinced that technology can be the catalyst for significant change," explains Triat.

For the Executive Director of Insurtech Chile, it's vital that insurance companies understand the opportunities offered by technology. "Digital distribution, process automation, and artificial intelligence are tools that can significantly improve efficiency and customer experience".

It should be noted that the event will have a preliminary phase on September 2nd, when an exclusive master class will be held, given by Hugues Bertin (partner of HCS Capital and known in the industry as one of the leading Insurtech experts on the continent), a situation that will "ignite the interest" for #eila24.
