Northern Light opens applications for its Second Batch: Expanding support for international startups landing in Europe

The programbased at the Maria 01 startup campusaims to help international startups land, validate, and scale across Finland and Europe.

December 2025.- After the successful completion of its first cohort, Northern Light, the first accelerator program to merge market access with founder resilience, has officially launched the second call for applications for its Spring 2026 batch. The program—based at the Maria 01 startup campus—aims to help international startups land, validate, and scale across Finland and Europe.

The first cohort, run in 2025, served as a testing ground for the accelerator’s methodology. Insights from founders, mentors, and local partners have now shaped a more targeted, traction-driven program for the second batch. According to Northern Light’s team, the new edition places even stronger emphasis on early revenue development, product-market fit, and real customer validation in the Nordic market.

A refined program for 2026

Northern Light’s second batch keeps its core pillars—product-market fit, European market access, and founder resilience—while sharpening the structure across its three-month journey.

Program Highlights

Northern Light differentiates itself by focusing on:

  • Product-Market Fit: Structured frameworks, live customer feedback, and one-to-one support to avoid the most common pitfall for startups—building products without real demand.
  • European Market Access: As part of one of Europe’s most active startup hubs, the program enables curated introductions to customers, partners, and investors. Finland currently ranks #1 in Europe for VC investment per capita, strengthening the strategic value of starting there.
  • On-the-Ground Founder Support: The program’s resilience lens ensures founders do not only scale fast—but sustainably. From community integration to well-being services, participants receive practical support throughout their relocation and growth process.

What Startups Gain

By the end of the three months, teams leave with:

  • A validated business model supported by early traction
  • Direct connections with customers, strategic partners, and investors
  • A soft landing in Finland and access to the wider EU market
  • A founder-centric support system for long-term growth
