Innovation Week: Chilean companies and startups will be present at Expo Osaka 2025
Marine Acoustics, Ancestral Technologies, Liva Company, Mallkivitor, MIVOS, Plan 3D, Segure Quantum, Symbiosis Biotek, and Wheel The World are among the companies in addition to four others.
Nine companies and ventures from Corfo's portfolio will be part of the national delegation that officially starts its participation this Monday in the Innovation Week of the Expo Osaka 2025, in Japan, which will take place between July 14 and 20, with the aim of showcasing Chilean innovation and entrepreneurial talent and boosting its international projection.
Marine Acoustics, Ancestral Technologies, Liva Company, Mallkivitor, MIVOS, Plan 3D, Segure Quantum, Symbiosis Biotek, and Wheel The World are part of the companies selected through a process led by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation, ProChile, Corfo, and Start-Up Chile; in addition to four others chosen through a public call with a gender focus in the Arica and Parinacota Region.
These nine selected firms have received support from Corfo at different stages of their growth, through programs from their Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Start-Up Chile departments. Within this sample, regional participation stands out, with cases from Valparaíso, Biobío and Los Ríos.
The Expo Osaka 2025, which is being held in Japan from April 13 to October 13, projects more than 30 million visitors and in this version has the motto "designing the future society" with the participation of countries from around the world with cultural, business, and artistic activities. Each will have a "National Day" and special programming that reflects its identity and proposals in the face of global challenges.
Innovations Made in Chile
Hydroacoustic monitoring technology powered by artificial intelligence, focused on the conservation of underwater ecosystems is the introduction for Marine Acoustics, a company from the Los Ríos Region, that during Innovation Week will relaunch its award-winning documentary "Signs from the Ocean", produced in collaboration with the global agency MGC and the Pacific Mining Company (CMP). It details this innovative technology, originated in Chile and pioneer worldwide.

"Our company, through its various services, can contribute to ports and marine conservation in several countries, such as Japan, which is surrounded by the sea. We have already initiated conversations with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), because we believe we have interesting common points to project our cooperation with this country," said Marcela Ruiz, founder and executive director of Acústica Marina.
INNOVATIONS WITH SOCIAL IMPACT.
MIVOS, led by women from the Valparaíso Region, is another company that will be present in Japan with its technological solution that is transforming communication for deaf people. Winner of the GEN Entrepreneur 2024 Award by Corfo, this company developed interactive systems that, through artificial intelligence, image recognition, and digital avatars, facilitate smooth communication in Chilean Sign Language (LSCh) between deaf and hearing people.

"Participating in the Universal Expo Osaka 2025 is a significant opportunity to highlight a Chilean innovation with real social impact. Representing MIVOS is a relevant advancement that recognizes our development with concrete and applied solutions," stated Camila Quevedo, co-founder, who added, "it is also about giving visibility to entrepreneurial women who are driving innovation with purpose and social commitment."
The case of Ancestral Technologies is another example of the Chilean delegation that will be present this week in Osaka, with their project Khana, an advanced robotic system for cleaning greenhouse roofs in desert areas, where abundant dust prevents the arrival of sunlight, essential for crop growth.
"As a technology company for agriculture in extreme areas, we have a special interest in Japan, a nascent market that cares a lot about food security, so we will travel with the expectation of generating a trusting relationship with key players with whom we can later do business. Likewise, since there will be pavilions from many countries at this fair, we want to explore the offerings of providers with technologies for arid sectors, such as those from Israel, Spain, France or Morocco," said Patricio Arias, co-founder and CEO of Ancestral Technologies.
