eMerge Americas 2024: Two Chilean scaleups among the top 25 in Latin America

Rocketbot and ComunidadFeliz were the only startups to stand out nationally at the event that brings together venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and tech innovators from the U.S. and the world.

Two Chilean startups stood out among the top 25 in Latin America at the eMerge Americas 2024 event held in Miami, which seeks to boost innovation from this region to the world.

These are the Rocketbot scaleups, a leader in RPA and automation; and ComunidadFeliz, a community and building management platform. Both managed to capture the attention of the jury at the Pitch Day, qualifying among the 25 that went on to the final stage, standing out among more than a hundred participants.

For Juan Jorge Herrera, one of the founders and CEO of Rocketbot, participating in eMerge Americas 2024 was a great opportunity in which, supported by ProChile, they managed to impress the strict jury.

“We were ten Chilean startups participating in the contest, so being one of the 25 chosen for the final indicates that we are on a very good track, showing the benefits of process automation and the help that RPA can generate in different industries,” Herrera said.

Although they did not manage to take first place, he comments that the classification is already an important recognition, because it allowed them to show the scope of their developments on the main stage of the event that brings together a wide range of technological innovators, entrepreneurs, investors and agents of change.

Undoubtedly, Miami has become a new pole of attraction for Latam startups, and especially for Chilean ones, which they see as the gateway to the U.S. market.

This is how a year ago Rocketbot began operations in the United States and is evaluating physically settling in that city, because today it has become an important center for Venture Capital, venture capitalists and other startups.

ComunidadFeliz: Planning Your Arrival in Miami

Meanwhile, David Peña, one of the founders and CEO of Comunidad Feliz, highlights that being present at the event marks a great milestone for the scale-up, since after their time at eMerge Americas, they are projecting their arrival in Miami next year. “Thanks to this trip, we are planning to start operations by 2025, we are very happy and excited,” Peña said.

About the event, he adds that, “It was great to be among the top 25 companies at the eMerge Americas event in Miami. Comunidad Feliz has been researching the Miami market and the entire state of Florida, and we realized that that state alone is already four times larger than the entire market in Chile.”

And of course, because being a market with a fairly marked Latin culture, the problems faced by residents’ associations are quite similar to those that occur in both Chile and Mexico, markets where Comunidad Feliz is present with its solutions.

“Amable Rivas, the VP of Product and partner at ComunidadFeliz, was talking with real estate players who told us that our solution would fit the Miami market like a glove, the residents’ associations have similar problems to those we already address in Chile and Mexico,” said the CEO of the national scale-up.

More than 300 companies applied to the Latin event, a quota that was later reduced to 110 to attend the face-to-face event in Miami, where after a pitch, 25 startups were selected as the most important in Latin America.

The event was also attended by the Chilean Edmundo Casas, founder of Kauel -recently recognized with an important award in Dubai-, who was one of the speakers; and Pedro Grez and Barbara Leisinger, founders of BVital Life, who are on the verge of opening the marketing of their line of clean label supplements in the United States.
