DIGI360: Digitalization, AI, and robotics take center stage in Turku
The event also offers a unique opportunity to network and learn about the latest technology applied across different industrial sectors.
DIGI360 took place this Wednesday at Logomo, featuring speakers such as Timo Aro, Strategy Director at the City of Turku; Dr. Martti Lehto, Director of Research at the Faculty of IT, University of Jyv盲skyl盲; Eija-Leena Koponen, Co-founder and Chief AI Officer at Renessai; and Matti Tikanm盲ki, CEO of Probot Oy.
The event, focused on digitalization and AI, addressed how emerging technologies enable, in principle, spatial and temporal independence. However, as Timo Aro explained, in sparsely populated regions or countries, digitalization tends to accelerate urban growth, which in turn generates a series of challenges.
Cybersecurity was also a key topic. Dr. Martti Lehto highlighted major concerns that both companies and individuals should be aware of, particularly regarding data protection. He warned that malicious actors are quick to exploit vulnerabilities to access sensitive information, potentially harming both organizations and users.
3-MINUTE PITCHES
The event also featured entrepreneurs participating in the "Open mic: Tight speeches, big ideas" session, where they presented their ventures in short, high-impact pitches.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ROBOTICS
The program continued with a presentation by Eija-Leena Koponen, Co-founder and Chief AI Officer at Renessai, who discussed current issues related to Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI.
Finally, Matti Tikanm盲ki, CEO of Probot Oy, spoke about how robotics鈥攁nd robots鈥攃an help increase productivity, while also fundamentally transforming the nature of human work.
