400 gamers and entrepreneurs face climate change from Tarapacá
Corfos Viraliza Events Program Chilean Technological Conference, executed by Gedes, brought together national and international experts.
Strategies for adapting to climate change with video games, the Internet of Value (blockchain) and the Internet of Things (IoT) were the main topics addressed by the “Chilean Technology Conference” (COTECH), an initiative of Corfo’s Viraliza line with the execution of Gedes, which brought together nearly 400 gamers and regional entrepreneurs.
The conference, held at the Victoria Centre, was attended by the main regional authorities and also included presentations by experts from the country and abroad, who presented the latest disruptive applications, and how the IoT is transforming cities, homes and industries, and how these trends can be harnessed to create a more connected and intelligent future; and, finally, the use of video games to strengthen and accelerate development.
The Regional Governor, José Miguel Carvajal, stressed that “today our region has great opportunities and we want knowledge to transform it from the digital perspective that you propose. And we confirm this in a new regional navigation chart, which reflects all your concerns and desires.”

Likewise, the regional director of Corfo, Catalina Cortés, explained that “the project is part of Corfo’s strategy, which is aimed at generating a sustainable culture and technological transformation in the region, and which seeks to deliver a new vision of how to address and adapt to climate change.”
The manager of Gedes in Tarapacá, Cecilia Sánchez, pointed out that “through agile methodology workshops, the methods of change and organizational transformation were delivered to adapt to change in the digital era. Likewise, the agents of change were made visible to inspire a cultural transformation in all their platforms.”
COTECH also seeks the exchange of knowledge and strategies, the generation of work networks and/or collaboration and the transfer of good practices of R+E to sustainable business models, thus positioning the Tarapacá Region as a pole of innovation and entrepreneurship.
