Sustainable Cities Summit 2024: Event to bring together experts in circular construction in Temuco

The region of La Araucanía will dress up to host this important international summit with a focus on sustainable construction.

On April 23 and 24, the Sustainable Cities 2024 Summit will be held in the city of Temuco, an international event where issues related to circular construction, urban planning strategies, light pollution and sustainability in construction, among other matters, will be addressed.

This instance will allow the participation and exchange of experiences around issues and challenges in environmental matters. The activity is supported by Corfo Araucanía and is organized by the International Business Accelerator AniChile and the Autonomous University of Chile.

From AniChile, Jorge Pereda, general manager, explained that “we are facing a large-scale event that will allow us to learn about the work carried out both in Chile and in other countries around the world, by people with extensive experience and leadership in environmental issues.”

For his part, the vice-rector of the Autonomous University of Chile in Temuco, Dr. Emilio Guerra, highlighted the importance of addressing the challenges posed by climate change with determination and knowledge.

“Participation in the summit in La Araucanía reflects our commitment to academic excellence and the search for innovative solutions. Through research, education and interdisciplinary collaboration, we are prepared to meet these challenges and contribute to the development of more sustainable and resilient cities for the benefit of present and future generations.”

International and local experience

Among the invited countries , Colombia, Chile and Uruguay stand out. All of them represented by experts in environmental issues, design, urban planning, architecture and construction.

One of the international speakers will be the national director of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works of Uruguay, Santiago Borsari, who will address civic participation in action with innovative and sustainable strategies through the experience of the Aparicio Saravia Reference Center.

From Colombia, meanwhile, the architect Jorge Pérez will be in charge of giving the keynote talk Medellín, a case study in biodivercities. Also noteworthy is the participation of national experts in tactical urbanism, design and lighting and CO2 reduction policies, among other subjects.

It should be noted that all the exhibitors participating in this summit will be available for consultations and/or interviews during the two days of this event.

Parallel to this summit, the Sustainable Innovation Fair will also be held, where it will be possible to learn about the country’s ventures and services that have a positive impact on the environment.

All these activities will be held at the Autonomous University of Chile, Temuco campus. Registration is open on the website www.cumbreciudades.cl
