Samsung introduced its new Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7: With more Galaxy AI and improved features for its foldables
At their Galaxy Unpacked event held in Brooklyn, New York, the Korean brand showcased their new Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, in addition to the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Watch8 series.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7: Larger screen, thinner and lighter
According to Samsung, this new Galaxy Z Fold7 combines the best of design with camera functionality, AI innovations, and it's one of the thinnest and lightest models to date, with a larger and more immersive screen when unfolded, indicating that it can achieve new levels of efficiency and productivity. With the new One UI 8 as a base, it integrates intelligent and multimodal agents optimized for the foldable format.

"The Galaxy Z Fold7 combines Galaxy AI with powerful hardware to deliver our most advanced Smartphone experience to date," stated TM Roh, President and Acting Head of the Device eXperience (DX) division at Samsung Electronics.

Technical Data
- Weighing just 215 grams, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is even lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
- It is only 8.9 mm thick when folded and 4.2 mm thick when unfolded.
- The device comes with a 6.5 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen, a wider screen [4] with a new aspect ratio of 21:9.
- The main 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen offers ultra-rich contrast, true blacks, and vibrant details that make everything stand out, from movies to open tabs while multitasking.
- With Vision Booster and up to 2600 nits of maximum brightness, the Galaxy Z Fold7 remains brilliantly visible even under direct sunlight.
- Armor FlexHinge is slimmer and lighter thanks to an improved water drop design and a newly implemented multi-rail structure that reduces visible wrinkles and strengthens durability by evenly dispersing tension.
- The cover screen is made with Corning® Gorilla® Glass Ceramic 2, a new ceramic glass with intricately embedded crystals in its glass matrix. This ensures the screen's durability and resistance to cracks, offering protection in a remarkably slim format.
- The advanced armor aluminum in the frame and hinge casing increases strength and hardness by 10%.
- The main screen has been restructured to be thinner and lighter, but also more durable. This was achieved by implementing a layer of titanium plate. In addition, the ultra-thin glass (UTG) increased its thickness by 50%, which makes the screen more resilient.
- The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy offers performance improvements of 41% in NPU, 38% in CPU, and 26% in GPU compared to the previous generation. This power boosts the ability of the Galaxy Z Fold7 to process more AI experiences on the device without sacrificing quality.
Ultra 200MP Camera
- Presenting the first 200MP wide-angle camera from the Galaxy Z series, capturing 4 times more detail and producing images 44% brighter.
- The 10MP and 100° camera on the main screen expands the frame, so when users unfold their phone, it's easy to capture group selfies, precious moments, and more of the world in a single shot.
- Samsung's latest generation ProVisual Engine processes images faster, allowing each photo and video to be sharper, more vibrant, and full of details.
- With Night Video, smart motion detection now separates moving subjects from static backgrounds to reduce noise.
- The 10-bit HDR provides greater color depth. The result is videos with more intense colors, deeper contrast, and more realistic details, regardless of the time of day.
VIDEO EDITING WITH AI
- The photos look flawless with Photo Assist, which moves, erases or enlarges objects, adjusts angles, and fills backgrounds with AI-driven precision.
- Users can capture vibrant expressions, including pet profiles, with Portrait Studio and perfect their photos with Galaxy's enhanced Generative Editing.
- The ability to eliminate distractions and seamlessly fill backgrounds has made Generative Edition one of the users' favorites, and now it's even smarter. It offers proactive suggestions with the new Object Eraser function, which automatically detects passersby at the push of a button.
- The Audio Eraser has also been updated to be smarter and more practical. There is a new switch in the gallery, which now proactively detects and eliminates unwanted background noises, such as wind or traffic, in video recordings.

Samsung also introduced its new Galaxy Z Flip7, a compact phone with AI and multimodal capabilities, powered by a new FlexWindow.
