Kervalion: the Montpellier startup redefining dental implantology, presents its revolutionary solution at Slush
The Kervalion team was present at Slush, where they showcased their innovation to the global investment community as part of their Series A funding round.
Kervalion develops a 3D-printed bone graft for dental surgery, combining biocompatibility, controlled resorption, and antibacterial action. Custom-designed from patient data and patented in 2022, this graft enables bone reconstruction and implant placement in a single operation, thereby reducing healing time, postoperative complications, and the need for antibiotics.

A core challenge: rebuilding to heal better
One in two patients requires bone augmentation during implant placement, which usually involves 6 to 12 months of waiting and 2 to 3 surgical procedures. Grafts of animal or human origin can cause rejection risks and complications due to the number of operations needed before final implant placement. These constraints delay the restoration of the patient’s natural smile and make the surgical process more complex.

An innovation for a lasting smile: a custom-made graft ready in one week
Thanks to its 3D-printed bone graft with micrometric architecture, Kervalion offers an innovative, patient-specific solution for bone augmentation. Based on a 3D scan of the jaw, the graft is manufactured in less than a week. Kervalion’s innovation ensures mechanical stability of both graft and implant while promoting guided bone regeneration. This technology enables faster, more reliable, and more natural implantology — helping patients regain their smile sooner.
"In addition to producing custom-designed 3D-printed bone grafts, the real innovation lies in enabling implant placement during the same surgery — a significant clinical time saver and, above all, a major benefit for patients, who can regain their smiles sooner. The surgery is fully guided to minimize adverse events. The Kervalion solution is set to become the new standard for peri-implant bone regeneration", Pr. Frédéric Cuisinier (PU-PH), Director of LBN, expert in periodontology and oral implantology.
