Is the iPhone 16e the best in Its family? Get to know the new Apple device
This iPhone 16e includes many of the features of its siblings, but at a lower price, making it a more economical device for access to the Apple ecosystem.
"The iPhone 16e comes with all the features of the iPhone 16 line that our users love, such as an amazing battery life, great performance thanks to the powerful A18 chip, an innovative two-in-one camera system and Apple Intelligence," stated Kaiann Drance, Vice President of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing at Apple.
And so it is, this iPhone 16e brings many of the functionalities that its siblings have, but at a lower price, making it a more economical device for accessing the apple ecosystem, since its market price starts at $599 USD (in the US).
What makes it attractive, beyond the price?
Some of the features that are causing the iPhone 16e to create buzz are that it includes the A18 chip, the same brain as the previous phones launched (iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro); it enables Apple Intelligence on the device; in addition to having the new C1, the first cellular connection modem designed by Apple, which promises greater energy efficiency.

While the 16e comes with only one main camera, the company has stated that this is a 48 MP Fusion Camera, which essentially emulates two lenses in one, digitally, with an integrated 2x telephoto lens, allowing for high-quality video and photography.
In terms of artificial intelligence, with the integration of Siri with ChatGPT (without needing an OpenAI membership), the user will be able to access a range of writing tools, so that they can progress their daily tasks more quickly and easily.
To this is added having the "Action Button" (which remember, is not a button) recently launched, with which you can choose quick destinations (shortcuts in English) to access in simple taps. Some of these options are camera, flashlight; Silence mode; music recognition with Shazam; Voice Notes, Focus, Translate, Magnifier, among others.
The iPhone 16e will be available in 2 colors: black and white. The pre-sale will start from this Friday, February 21, to be delivered from Friday, February 28, 2025 (at least in the United States).
WHAT THE iPHONE 16e DOESN'T HAVE: Wireless charging: This device offers charging options wirelessly and/or via USB-C, which allow connecting all kinds of accessories; for some users this is just a minor detail.
It also doesn't come with the "dynamic island", but comes with the notch that older iPhones had (like its version 14); so strictly speaking, you're going to have a phone with less total screen size.
On a more technical level, the iPhone 16e comes with one less core in its processor... something that could affect its performance in top-tier games or the development of more elaborate actions, hand in hand with artificial intelligence.
