HONOR ventures into robotics hand in hand with Unitree and breaks humanoid speed record

Thanks to training with its internally developed AI algorithm, HONOR managed to make the robot achieve a maximum speed of 4 meters per second, thus marking a milestone in this category.

At the Mobile World Congress 2025, HONOR unveiled its HONOR ALPHA PLAN, an ambitious initiative to evolve from a smartphone manufacturer to a company focused on an ecosystem of devices powered by artificial intelligence (AI). As part of this strategic transformation, the brand officially confirmed its foray into the field of robotic development.

AI-Powered Humanoid Speed Record by HONOR

During the launch event of the HONOR 400 Series in Shenzhen, the company revealed a notable achievement: the breaking of the speed record in a humanoid robot race. Thanks to training with its internally developed AI algorithm, HONOR managed to make the robot reach a maximum speed of 4 meters per second, thus marking a milestone in this category.

This advancement demonstrates the potential of HONOR's AI to drive the development of more agile and efficient robots. Although the robot used to achieve this mark belongs to the company Unitree - recognized for its innovation in humanoid robotics - it was trained with HONOR software via an open interface, highlighting the brand's algorithm adaptability and robustness.

Department of Incubation and Focus on Embodied AI

To support this exploration in new industries, the company established its "New Industries Incubation Department" in April 2025. This entity focuses on the development of AI agents and their integration into physical bodies capable of interacting with the real environment in a natural and intuitive way, a practice known as "Embodied Intelligence".

In that regard, the brand confirmed that they are not only working with strategic allies like Unitree, but they will also develop their own robots. This dual approach: in-house production and collaboration, aims to expand the boundaries of what is possible in the industry.

"We hope to collaborate with more partners in the embodied intelligence industry chain to create an open ecosystem that allows for fluid AI," said David Moheno. This collaborative approach seeks to accelerate innovation and the development of more advanced and versatile robotic solutions.

The entry of HONOR into robotics represents a significant strategic move that could have a considerable impact on the future of multiple industries. By combining their AI expertise with the development of robotic solutions u2014 both their own and in collaboration u2014 HONOR positions itself as a new player in sectors such as automation, personal assistance, exploration, logistics, and health.

With this firm step, the company reaffirms its vision of a future where AI takes on innovative forms to transform everyday life.
