From the food truck to its own place: Entrepreneurs from Guanaqueros expand their gastronomic menu
After three years of operation at a busy intersection of the town, the entrepreneurs saw the need to settle in their home to diversify their commercial offer and expand the spaces for customer service.
It is likely that many visitors to Guanaqueros are familiar with the food truck of “El Cruce“, since it is precisely at this busy intersection at the access to the resort where this business known for its fast food on the go was located for more than three years.
However, due to construction works carried out in the sector and the opportunity to continue growing the business, they saw the need to settle in a larger place, where they could receive their visitors more comfortably and implement the cuisine in a better way in order to diversify their gastronomic offer.
This decision led them to settle in their home, where they built a rustic and striking place, with a large kitchen and parking. In addition, they have taken a leap in the offer by covering the fast food that they worked for years and adding traditional dishes of Chilean gastronomy, such as corn cake or empanadas, fish and seafood, natural juices, gyros, among other preparations.

Bárbara Flores, founder of El Cruce, indicated that “It has been a great challenge and a great investment to move to this new location, as we were at the junction for many years; However, we are confident in the loyalty of our users, who have seen us grow from the beginning. Today, this new location allows us to work with new products that we couldn’t before, and we’re very excited about that“.
He further added that “We know that in the path of entrepreneurship one always has to adapt in order to grow and that is what we did, since due to certain external factors we had to move from the previous location and react quickly to be able to continue operating this summer season. This process has taught us many lessons and we are satisfied with the reception of the public who continue to prefer us».

In this new stage of the company, the entrepreneur wanted to rely on the services of the Sercotec Coquimbo Business Center, where a work plan was designed mainly related to the digital inputs of the premises, such as social networks, paid campaigns and other advertising supports; as well as the dissemination of products and services.
In this regard, Jorge Donoso, director of the agency, stated that “We know that the change of location can be a great challenge for these entrepreneurs; However, after three years of existence, where they have been able to retain a large number of users, it is time to dare to diversify the menu and for that we will support them in all the processes that are necessary so that more people see that not all the gastronomic offer of Guanaqueros is concentrated in the coastal sector, but there are family-run establishments like this one that have high quality products at affordable prices“.
For those who want to know more about El Cruce , it is possible to visit them at 2530 La Serena Street and it operates from Wednesday to Monday, between 1:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., with delivery option.
