Breik: Chilean Startup Revolutionizing Shift Management Expands in LATAM

Breik consolidates its position as a leader in the optimisation of working day planning through its innovative web platform, achieving a 400% increase in turnover compared to the previous year.

New partners, international expansion and exponential growth in turnover are part of the milestones achieved in 2023 by Breik, a Chilean company dedicated to the optimization of Shift management, offering advanced and customized solutions for companies of all sizes and sectors, and in accordance with current regulations.

The tool developed by the startup is a Software as a Service (SAAS), works through a web platform and makes more efficient the administration of employees’ working hours, in different branches and according to their position and contract, delivering reporting to be able to monitor the fulfillment of shifts, Sundays off, assigned shifts, etc.

According to Paulina Alzamora, Marketing and Business Development Manager and co-founder of Breik, “Currently, Breik works with more than 25 clients in various areas, including services, security, retail, pharmacies, telecommunications, gastronomy, logistics, among others. Its platform has proven to be especially useful for companies with high staff turnover, offering customized and efficient solutions for shift management.

Growth & Expansion

The innovative development has meant rapid growth for Breik in a short time, achieving a 400% turnover compared to the previous year, demonstrating the positive impact of its platform on the market and the growing demand for its services. In addition to this, they already have customers in Peru and a pilot underway in Mexico.

Among the notable milestones is the one that has established strategic alliances with companies and large corporations with more than 10 thousand users.

Along these lines, the executive highlighted that “they have been contacted by an important Mexican company to start a pilot, thus marking a significant step towards international expansion.”

He added that, “Breik has become a white label of an important gastronomic software with operations in Latin America, which means that it has been adopted as its service provider, which are rebranded and marketed by this other company. This only consolidates their presence in the region.”

By 2024, and as Paulina Alzamora points out, “Breik’s main goals are to continue its growth in Chile, consolidate the success of the pilot in Mexico and expand its presence in that country, attracting new customers and strategic partners.”

The Chilean startup has the support of the 3IE Institute, a business incubator at the Federico Santa María Technical University, and has received significant investment funds, including two Corfo, a Semilla Inicia in 2021 and Semilla Expande in 2023, in addition to a new round of angel investors.
