Attention startups from Chile and Latam: Startups looking for to be accelerated in Turku, Finland

The city of Turku, the former capital of Finland, opened its call for applications for its Startup Call Turku program, aimed specifically at startups interested in establishing themselves in this Nordic country.

In one of the most vibrant ecosystems in Europe, Finland wants to position itself as one of the development hubs for startups from different parts of the world.

It is in this context that the city of Turku, the former capital of Finland, opened its call for its Startup Call Turku program, aimed specifically at those startups interested in establishing themselves in this Nordic country.

WHO CAN APPLY?

The program is looking for startups composed of 1 or 3 founders with versatile experience who plan to move to Finland.

The equipment must have:

The intention to found a growing company in Finland
An innovative business plan
Commitment to Complete BusinessUp Accelerator Program (September 20 – November 22, 2023)
Secure financial means for your own living expenses

WHAT THE PROGRAM IS ABOUT

This program aims to select startups from different parts of the world, offering the opportunity to experience the startup ecosystem of the Turku region for 3 months, during which time they will be able to participate in the BusinessUp acceleration program (including presentations to investors); participation in startup events and networking, use of coworking space with Wi-Fi access, and support in finding accommodation in Turku.

Do you want to start a company in Finland?

The program also provides the necessary information and help if the startup wants to establish itself in Finland.

Through a workshop, it showcases the digital tools that exist to start a business in Finland and access the country’s ecosystem services. (For more information on the services available, please visit the Business Finland website.)

During the Startup Call Turku program, startups will have a dedicated mentor, and at the end of the acceleration, they will have a presentation to a group of investors through a pitchday.

And finally, the startups participating in the program will be able to be part of SLUSH 2024, the world’s leading startup and technology event, which is held annually in Helsinki, Finland.

UNTIL WHEN CAN YOU APPLY?

The deadline to apply is May 19. Applications are evaluated by BusinessUp experts and the winning teams are announced in early June.

The start of BusinessUp will be on September 20 and the teams are expected to arrive in Turku in mid-September to receive orientation and settle in the city.
