Turku Turns Pink: Barbie arrives at Kino Kilta with film, party, and exceptional collection
Kino Kilta, in collaboration with Taiteen Talo, is hosting a themed evening to mark the opening of the exhibition "Pinkspiration The Barbie Exhibition", which showcases a unique collection of dolls, many of them on display in Finland for the first time.
On May 9, the iconic character Barbie will take over Turku’s cultural center with a celebration that blends film, pop culture, and community. Kino Kilta, in collaboration with Taiteen Talo, is hosting a themed evening to mark the opening of the exhibition "Pinkspiration - The Barbie Exhibition", which showcases a unique collection of dolls, many of them on display in Finland for the first time.
To celebrate the occasion, Kino Kilta will wrap itself in pink and host two special Barbie screenings during Mother’s Day weekend!
- Friday, May 9: Free Laitilan Samba soft drinks will be offered to all ticket holders, and moms will receive free popcorn! Movie starts at 18:30.
- Sunday, May 11: Ticket holders will again enjoy a free Samba soft drink, and moms will of course receive free popcorn

Mother's Day Special Screening
To celebrate, Kino Kilta is dressing up in pink and organizing a special Barbie screening on Mother's Day
On Sunday, photographer Jaska Poikonen will also be on-site offering the pinkest portraits of the spring at a special Mother’s Day price of €15 per photo. Come get a memorable portrait with your movie companion before the screening, between 13:45 and 15:00.
With these activities, Turku becomes a meeting point for pop culture and nostalgia lovers, offering a unique experience that celebrates Barbie’s influence on contemporary culture.
