September 21: Big Machines event returns to Kupittaa on Turun Päivä
The purpose of the event is to present the diverse tasks and operations of the City of Turku's maintenance services to all residents.
The popular family-friendly Big Machines event will once again take over Blomberg Square in Kupittaa on Turku Day, Sunday, September 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event, now being organized for the third time, is hosted by the City of Turku’s maintenance services.
At the Big Machines event, both children and adults will have the chance to get to know the vehicles and machinery used in the city’s maintenance work. Visitors will see a variety of machines, from road graders to sewer trucks and from tractors to excavators.

"We are delighted to once again welcome Turku residents to Blomberg Square. On site, people can explore both large and smaller machines used in the maintenance of streets and green areas. A playful checkpoint course suitable for all ages also awaits participants," says Heidi Jokinen, Street Engineer at the City of Turku.
The purpose of the event is to present the diverse tasks and operations of the City of Turku’s maintenance services to all residents. Balloons will be distributed to the first 2,000 visitors.
