Maria 01 presents its strategy for the next three years focused on entrepreneurs and global connections
The objective of the organization is to attract high-growth startups, from both Nordic countries and other regions, by offering access to key resources and connections.
Maria 01, a startup ecosystem based in Helsinki, unveiled its strategic plan for the next three years. The initiative focuses on two main areas: supporting founders and strengthening an ecosystem with global reach.
The objective of the organization is to attract high-growth startups, both from Nordic countries and other regions, offering access to key resources and connections. Maria 01 operates as a non-profit entity and seeks to facilitate collaboration between startups, investors, and corporate partners.
Support to International Founders
Finland has identified startups as an important factor for its future economic growth. In this context, Maria 01 provides resources and guidance to facilitate the arrival of international founders to the country.
For those who cannot relocate, the ecosystem offers a digital membership that allows access to the community and its resources remotely.
The membership also simplifies entry into the Finnish and European market, helping startups establish local networks and understand the business environment of the region.
Expansion of investor networks and corporate partners
Maria 01 is working to expand its network of international investors and corporate partners. According to the organization, these connections not only provide funding, but also mentorship and access to key contacts in the industry.
Collaborations with corporations allow startups to find their first customers, while established companies can incorporate innovative approaches into their operations.
Programs and Events
As part of her strategy, Maria 01 will launch an acceleration program this year aimed at high-growth startups. Training programs for entrepreneurs in early stages will also be implemented.
- Builders' Breakfast: Learning from Founders: will focus on inspiring stories from founders, offering a unique platform to learn directly from experienced entrepreneurs. These monthly sessions feature some of Finland's most prominent founders, who share best practices and lessons learned, exemplifying the strong supportive culture of the ecosystem and fostering collaboration and mutual growth.
- International Pitching Competition Maria 01 NOW: Starting this year, international startups, including those that are not members of Maria 01, are invited to participate in the Maria 01 NOW pitching competition, which will take place in early June.
- Fast Track to Membership: Speed up the integration process for startups that bring exceptional value to the ecosystem. Designed for founders with successful exits, support from top-tier investors, or highly scalable business models, this program facilitates rapid access to the benefits of the Maria 01 community.
- Konecranes Acceleration Program: after seven consecutive years of management, Maria 01 is now expanding this successful model to new corporate partners. The initiative fosters innovation within companies by integrating internal teams with the agile mindset of startups, inspiring bold and transformative ideas.
