AWS seeks 40 startups from around the world for its 2025 Generative AI Accelerator
AWS will select the 5 most promising Latin American startups for this year's program. Thirty-five additional startups will be selected from other regions of the world to complete the program with the 40 most promising startups globally.
Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), a company of Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN), today opened applications for the third edition of the AWS Generative AI Accelerator (GAIA), a global eight-week program designed to boost early-stage startups developing foundational generative AI technologies.
Following the success of previous years, AWS will select the 5 most promising Latin American startups for this year's program. An additional thirty-five startups will be selected from other regions of the world to complete the program with the 40 most promising startups globally.
The applications will be open from June 10th to July 10th, and the selected startups will be announced on September 24th, 2025. The program will kick off on October 13th, 2025 in Seattle. Startups can apply here.
With generative AI tools now widely available, AWS is focusing its efforts in 2025 to support those startups that are developing generative AI technologies, including building models, infrastructure, fine-tuning tools and agent workflow that will drive the next wave of innovation.
The program aims to accelerate these teams with up to $1 million in AWS credits, technical guidance and mentoring, support to access the market, and access to AWS's suite of generative AI technologies.
"We are at a stage where virtually every startup will integrate generative AI into their business in one way or another. For this reason, the focus of this year's accelerator is to support those startups developing the foundational technologies that will define whatu2019s possible with AI," explained Jon Jones, Vice President and Global Head of Startups at AWS. "GAIA is part of our ongoing commitment to accelerate innovation in generative AI worldwide, providing revolutionary startups with the credits, mentorship, and visibility they need to scale confidently."
GAIA is an eight-week hybrid program, offering virtual sessions between the on-site launch at Amazon's headquarters in Seattle and the program's conclusion at AWS re:Invent 2025. Startups developing expansive language models, infrastructure tools, fine-tuning platforms, or foundational agents are particularly encouraged to apply. Startups should have a functional Minimum Viable Product (MVP), some customer traction, and a strong technical team. No prior experience with AWS is required, but those already building on AWS will benefit most from hands-on architecture guidance and marketplace enablement.
Last year, GAIA received over 4,700 applications from startups all around the world, bringing together a diverse group of startups driving innovation in fields such as biotechnology, financial technology, media, and industrial automation.
The new edition of this program will reflect AWS's commitment to global inclusion, with selected companies from Latin America, North America, Asia-Pacific and Japan, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
