Vote for Turku's Good Building Award 2025: These are the candidates

Nominees, Turku City

The public can vote for the best of the four candidates from 8 to 22 January 2026. The candidates are selected by the Turku Cityscape Working Group.

The aim of the Good Building Award is to highlight high-quality construction and successful building projects in Turku. The award has been presented since 2018. The public can vote for the best of five nominees through the Kerro kantasi (Have Your Say) service from January 8 to January 22, 2026. In addition to the public vote, Turku’s Cityscape Working Group will also select its own winner.

The award is given annually to a project that can be:

  • A building completed within the last three years that has been executed with high quality and innovation, or that has improved the comfort and attractiveness of the urban environment.
  • An organization or initiative that has consistently promoted high-quality construction over time.
  • An urban planning project that has successfully created the conditions for a good living environment and a pleasant urban setting.

"Despite the downturn in the construction sector, several high-quality buildings have been completed in Turku. This year we selected five nominees for the award. Among them, Åbo Akademi’s Astra and the Hirvensalo Parish Centre represent high-quality renovation in addition to new construction. The list also includes two residential projects and an architecturally ambitious pharmaceutical facility that contributes to the ongoing development of the Kupittaa and Itäharju area," says Nea Tuominen, Cityscape Architect of Turku.
