Startup Búho is a finalist in the Entrepreneur Challenge contest

The contest is focused on promoting and giving visibility to micro and small businesses through financing and training.

Banco de Chile, together with the Levantemos Chile Challenge Foundation, created in 2016 the National Entrepreneur Challenge Contest to promote innovative ideas. This year marks the eighth edition, which will be televised by the Mega channel.

This program is focused on promoting and giving visibility to micro and small enterprises through financing and training that offer technical tools applicable to their businesses.

It is in this context that the startup Búho is among the ten finalists. According to Ricardo Susaeta, CEO of Búho, the path to be among those selected was not easy, “we had to dare to compete in an environment more adjusted to the social impact and the benefit we generate for people over technology”.

Tyto.IA: The Technology of Owl

In order to reduce the time people spend getting a drug on the market, Owl uses Tyto.IAone digital recipe reader using Artificial Intelligence, It allows you to read and capture the information of a prescription made on a computer, find the prescription medications and add them to the cart automatically.

Joaquín Muñoz, Head of Growth at Búho, stresses that “this system optimizes the shopping cart so that each product is from the pharmacy that has it cheapest. This seeks the comfort of the patient and in some way that AI fulfills the role of a digital pharmacist.”

The regional breakdown of the finalists reveals a diverse competition, with 9 entrepreneurs coming from Tarapacá, Valparaíso, O’Higgins, La Araucanía, Los Ríos, and Los Lagos, and 11 from the Metropolitan Region.

This year, the National Entrepreneur Challenge Contest reached its eighth edition, standing out for an exciting final where 20 entrepreneurs from all over Chile will compete for a prize pool of $100 million.
