Pinta Libre: The app that seeks to revolutionize the world of beer

Cristian Castro chose to venture into this project with the Pinta Libre app that allows, via subscription, savings every month.

Beer consumption in Chile has undergone a significant evolution in recent years. In the last period, an increase in average household intake was observed from 111 to 125 litres between 2019 and 2022, according to a study by Kantar Worldpanel.

It is in this context that Cristian Castro, a former partner of Izit, chose to venture into this project called Pinta Libre, the app that seeks to revolutionize the way Chileans leave.

Originally released in 2020, but with a short life of one month due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Pinta Libre is an app That -in simple- It allows all its users to access a beer at no cost on a daily basis, in the participating establishments, under the monthly subscription model.

With the global health emergency in the past, but still with a depressed economic scenario where many complain about the high cost of living, the entrepreneur wanted to offer an entertaining, different and high-value form of savings for Chileans.

“After the COVID-19 pandemic where we were locked up for so long, clearly the world changed, so did our pockets. What we want with Pinta Libre is to be able to fully recover the possibility of socializing with friends, partners, etc., but at a lower cost than what is currently happening,” explains Cristián Castro

How does it work?

“By paying $4,990 per month, users will be able to consume a beer at no cost every day at participating locations. You simply have to download the application, pay the subscription and that gives you the right every day of the month to be able to access any of the places that are adhered to order a beer at no cost. Among the participating establishments are KrossBar, La Cervecería, El Honesto Mike, Uncle Fletch, Kleine Kneipe, Bar&Vuelvo and many others,” explains the CEO of Pinta Libre in Chile, Cristián Castro.

To do this, all you have to do is download the app (available for iOS and Android) and subscribe with a credit or debit card. Once this process is done, you choose the bar or restaurant where you want to go to consume a beer.

Once in the selected place, the app must be shown from the cell phone to the attendant and additionally consume, something more for at least the value of the beer that you will receive at no cost in any other product on the menu. This way, you will receive the frothy concoction without an extra payment.

“You can also look at it another way, every time you eat something in any of the participating establishments, the first beer will always be free of charge,” says Castro

A bit of history

The platform called “Pinta Libre” originates in Argentina in the year 2018.Su current executive leader, Matías Mindlin, observed that, despite the significant increase in beer consumption and social activities, many gastronomic establishments and bars had numerous unoccupied tables.

This initiative grew and is part of a franchise that is already operational in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Peru and Spain.
